Brooklyn Banya is a family-owned Russian bathhouse that has been steaming Kensington for over 20 years — 'the People's Banya,' a 10,000-square-foot space of hand-painted murals and high, chandeliered ceilings. Inside are three authentic saunas (dry and wet), a steam room, a hot jacuzzi, a cold plunge, a pool, a roof deck, and a café serving Russian home cooking. The signature ritual is the Platza — an attendant whisks you with oak or birch venik branches over intense steam heat to exfoliate skin and boost circulation — alongside body scrubs and massages. Walk-ins are welcome, and the whole banya can be rented for private events.
Day Pass — All-day access to the three saunas, steam room, jacuzzi, cold plunge, pool, and roof deck. Adults $60, kids under 12 $35; Monday & Wednesday 11 AM–4 PM day passes are $40. Bring flip-flops (or borrow a pair).
